ESSENTIALLY ELLINGTON REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND COMPETITION AND FESTIVAL

Shenandoah Conservatory has been selected as a site for this annual festival! This education-focused festival, co-produced by Jazz at Lincoln Center, is designed to offer high school jazz bands of all levels the opportunity to perform the music of Duke Ellington and other seminal big band composers and arrangers. Bands participating receive professional feedback from jazz professionals in their own background.

The JOHN KIRBY STORY will be performed at the festival. Please check Shenandoah University’s website for scheduled details about the festival. The Winchester Area NAACP is one of the sponsors of this event.

Date: Saturday, January 19
Place: Ohstrom-Byrant Theatre
